Overview
GymJC is designed to keep your personal workout data private and under your control. This policy explains how we handle data.
Your Workout Data
- No account required. We do not operate accounts or a central database for your personal data.
- Your data stays with you. All workout data, measurements, and other content you create is stored locally on your device and/or in your Apple iCloud account under your Apple ID.
- We cannot access your data. We do not have access to, collect, or store any of your workout data, measurements, or iCloud content.
- Apple handles storage. Your use of iCloud is governed by Apple's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Apple is responsible for the security, backup, and GDPR compliance of data stored in iCloud.
Analytics and Diagnostics
To improve app performance and stability, we collect limited anonymous usage and crash data via Google Firebase Analytics.
What Firebase Collects:
- Device information (model, operating system version)
- App usage patterns (screens viewed, features used)
- Crash reports and performance metrics
- Anonymous identifiers
What Firebase Does NOT Collect:
- Your workout data, exercises, or measurements
- Your name, email, or other personal identifiers
- Any content from your iCloud account
Data Processor and International Transfers:
Firebase is operated by Google LLC, which processes analytics data on our behalf. This data may be stored on Google servers, including servers located outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Google Firebase complies with GDPR requirements for international data transfers. For more information, see Firebase Terms of Service and Firebase Privacy and Security.
Your Rights (GDPR)
Under EU/Swedish law, you have the following rights:
- Access: Your workout data is always accessible to you via the app and your iCloud account.
- Rectification and Erasure: You can edit or delete your workout data directly in the app or via iCloud settings.
- Data Portability: Your data is stored in your iCloud account and can be exported using Apple's data portability tools.
- Opt-out of Analytics: You can disable analytics collection in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements → Share iPhone Analytics (disable), or by disabling analytics within the app if such an option is provided.
Data Retention
- Workout data: Retained in your iCloud account as long as you choose to keep it. Managed by Apple's iCloud retention policies.
- Analytics data: Firebase retains anonymous analytics data for up to 14 months, in accordance with Firebase's data retention policy.
Security
Your workout data is protected by Apple's iCloud security, including encryption in transit and at rest. Analytics data sent to Firebase is transmitted securely over encrypted connections.
Children's Privacy
GymJC is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you via an app update or other appropriate means. Your continued use of the app after changes indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
